ABIO Holdings is honored to announce the appointment of Dr. George Karagiorgis as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dr. Karagiorgis brings a distinguished record of innovation, leadership, and technical excellence, with a career that spans groundbreaking research, large-scale renewable energy operations, and advanced engineering.

Dr. Karagiorgis is widely recognized as a pioneer in the Renewable Energy Sources (RES) sector, having contributed to the development and commercialization of transformative clean-energy technologies. He is the inventor of a hydrogen compressor system funded by the European Union, a landmark innovation that plays a vital role in the evolving hydrogen economy—one of the core pillars of Europe’s future energy strategy.

He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and serves as a Professor at Frederick University, where he has mentored the next generation of engineers and contributed extensively to academic research in sustainable energy, mechanical systems, and advanced engineering methodologies.

As COO of ABIO Holdings, Dr. Karagiorgis will oversee the operational execution of the Group’s expanding portfolio, including the development of utility-scale PV parks, BESS facilities, integrated hybrid systems, and green data center infrastructure. His deep technical expertise and innovative mindset will guide ABIO Holdings as it strengthens its vertically integrated model across development, EPC, O&M, energy trading, and asset management.
